Futuwwah and Raising Males into Sacred Manhood concisely discusses the principles within futuwwah, or spiritual chivalry, that young men should strive to embody and should inculcate into our communities. While the virtues discusses in this text are not all exclusively related to young males becoming men, this book is tailored towards males, and the specific issues faced by males as they strive to grow into the path of manhood. About the Author

Dr. Husain Abdul Sattar studied at the  University of Chicago as an undergraduate where he studied Biology, Arabic and Islamic Civilization. It was during this period that he began his study of sacred knowledge, studying Arabic grammar (nahw), Hanafi jurisprudence (fiqh) and principles of jurisprudence (usul al-fiqh) under ‘ulama (scholars) in Chicago. In 1994, Shaykh Husain also began training in Islamic spirituality (tasawwuf).

After obtaining his undergraduate degree, Shaykh Husain enrolled in the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. Along with his medical studies, he continued his studies of sacred knowledge. In his final year, he took leave from medical school to focus on his religious studies, traveling to Syria and then Pakistan, where he studied a traditional curriculum for a number of years under some of their greatest scholars. Throughout his years of study, Shaykh Husain also continued his training in Islamic Spirituality (tasawwuf) and was formally authorized to teach tasawwuf in July 2001.

Shaykh Husain is currently an Associate Professor of Pathology at the University of Chicago’s Prizker School of Medicine and is a practicing Surgical Pathologist at the University of Chicago Medical Center. He is most widely known for his contributions to medical education. His textbook Fundamentals of Pathology is one of the most popular medical textbooks and his website (Pathoma.com) is utilized by the most medical students across the world.

About the author: Shaykh 'Abdullah Siraj al-Din was born in the lands of modern-day Syria just prior to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. 1 whole goat or sheep will be dedicated in Makkah and distributed to those in need on your behalf. Our team has been partnering with a local farm for over 10 years to complete the Qurbani in Makkah. All the meat is distributed to the underprivileged residents of Makkah. Good deeds have a special virtue when done in Makkah.

All of our animals are one or more years old. None of the animals has any defects, such as, but not limited to, missing teeth, severed tails or defective ears. Our local Makkah team handpicks the animals prior to Eid and is involved in slaughtering and supervising the whole operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my Qurbani be processed and distributed within the days of Eid?

Our farmer & processor have many years of experience processing and distributing meat during Hajj. They will ensure that all animals are processed & packaged on the day of Eid, and all meat is distributed the next day to this in need. This is also handled by team members of IGI in Saudi.

Who will receive donations of meat?

The meat from your Qurbani will be donated to the poor of Makkah and the outlying suburbs. The residents of these areas are largely emigrants & refugees, with large numbers from West & East Africa, as well as Rohingya from Burma.

How will you ensure my Qurbani is performed according to specifications?

We have a longstanding relationship with our farmers & processor through Hajj & umrah trips organized by Sara International Travel. IGI's team has personally supervised their work in the past & is confident they will fulfil their task with ihsan.

Is there any special blessing in having my Qurbani done in Makkah?

In general, actions within the haram carry special blessings & benefits. One might hope for some baraka in donating to the poor of Makkah, especially during a year when Hajj is again reduced & resources will be relatively scarce in the haram.

Can I dedicate animals for other purposes besides Qurbani, like an aqiqah or general sadaqah?

This text is a collection of approximately 400 unique salawat composed by Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari. Similar to the famous Dala'il al-Khayrat of Imam al-Jazuli, the text is arranged into seven chapters, with one chapter for each day of the week. However, rather than a collection of traditional salawat like the Dala’il, the Salawat of Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari is an original text reflecting the knowledge, insight, and outpourings of the Shaykh.
