About the Author
Shaykh 'Abd al-Fattah Abu Ghuddah was born in 1917 in Aleppo during the last years of the Ottoman Caliphate. He studied under many of the great scholars of both Shaam and Egypt, and attended Al-Azhar in Cairo. He became heavily involved in politics in the wake of the fall of the Caliphate. After a period of time unjustly held in jail, he went into exile in Saudi Arabia. In his later life, he would become intensely focused on his study, writing, and 'ilmi legacy. Several prominent scholars of the present time are among his students. The Shaykh returned to Allah in Riyadh in 1997.
