Dedications Call: The Written Remembrance
A Trace Quran for Juz Amma
The Opportunity: This Ramadan, Imam Ghazali Publishing will print at least one thousand copies of The Written Remembrance, a trace Quran of Juz Amma. At the start of the blessed month, they will be given freely to members of our community around the world.
We want to revive the tradition of writing one’s own mushaf.
And every Alif, every Ba, every Ta traced by those hands, in homes across the globe, will be written in honor of your loved ones.
This is the opportunity before you: a juz written in your loved one’s name, written by believers on every continent, during the month the Quran. The reward of the Quran being inscribed in honor of those you love, multiplied across the world, is unmatched.
The Tradition: For fourteen centuries, the faithful have written the Quran as an act of worship. Mulla Ali al-Qari wrote a complete Quran every year of his life. Yaqut al-Musta’simi copied over a thousand mushafs, continuing his work even as Baghdad burned around him from the Mongol invasion. Sheikh Hamdullah wrote forty-seven complete Qurans after guidance came to him in a prophetic dream. Ibn al-Bawwab of Baghdad inscribed sixty-four complete Qurans with his own hand. Hafiz Osman, the Ottoman master, wrote twenty-five, with Sultan Mustafa II personally holding his inkwell as he worked. Across West Africa, students have learned the Quran for centuries by writing its verses onto wooden boards, treating even the wash water as blessed.
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that leaving a mushaf as a legacy is among the good deeds whose reward continues after death. Through your dedication, you begin the journey to extend this legacy to your loved ones.
What Your Dedication Includes:
Your dedication name will appear in the front matter of every copy distributed worldwide. One printed copy will be gifted to you (shipping not included).
