Seeking Hope & Success Through Reading About the Messenger ﷺ & His Birth
A Beautiful Reader on the Birth of the Perfect Man ﷺ
This work honors and celebrates the blessed birth of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Maṭāli‘ al-Jamāl fī Mawlid Insān al-Kamāl—translated as 'A Beautiful Reader on the Birth of the Perfect Man ﷺ'—is an elegant and spiritually rich work. Written by the saintly scholar Sayyid Muḥammad ibn al-Mukhtār al-Tijānī al-Shinqīṭī (d. 1299 AH), it reflects the eloquence, depth, and spiritual insight of the scholars of West Africa and the wider tradition of that region.
It does not restrict itself to the blessed moment of the Prophet’s birth; rather, it traces the luminous journey of the Muḥammadan Reality—from the primordial light created before all things, to its transfer through the noble lineage of the prophets, until it shone forth in the person of Muḥammad ﷺ. The text recounts how the Prophet’s conception and birth were accompanied by cosmic signs, angelic celebrations, and divine glad tidings, centering his role as the axis of creation and the crown of existence.
The work is enriched with a moving munfarijah (plea for relief), written by the author’s disciple, Shaykh ʿAbd al-Raḥīm ibn Aḥmad ibn Ḥusayn. This heartfelt supplication teaches believers how to turn to Allah in moments of hardship, affirming that “difficulty is the door to relief” and that patience opens the way to divine ease. Such sections make the Mawlid not only a commemoration, but also a guide for present struggles, offering solace, hope, and reliance upon Allah.
The author also composed two distinctive prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ that are included within this work.
Obtainment of Objectives and Hopes Through Reciting the Story of the Birth of the Best of Creation ﷺ
This luminous Mawlid and Seerah text, composed by the distinguished Moroccan scholar and hadith master Shaykh Muḥammad ibn Muḥammad al-Ḥajūjī al-Tijānī (d. 1370 AH/1950 CE), stands as a devotional tribute to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and a profound testimony to his blessed exalted station. It is presented here in Arabic with an English translation for both devotional and study use.
The text commences with majestic praises of Allah and His Beloved ﷺ, portraying the Prophet as the primordial light from which all creation was brought forth and as the axis of divine mercy that sustains existence. It continues by recounting the noble conception and blessed birth of the Prophet ﷺ, interweaving classical narrations with descriptions of the cosmic signs, angelic celebrations, and miracles that marked his blessed arrival into the world.
Complete Elation & Happiness Through the Birth of the Locus of Light ﷺ
Among the masterpieces of Islamic devotional literature is Kamāl al-Faraḥ wa al-Surūr bi Mawlid Maẓhar al-Nūr by the eminent Moroccan scholar and jurist Shaykh Aḥmad ibn al-Ḥājj al-ʿIyāshī Sukayrij (1878–1944). Written at the turn of the 20th century while still a young man, this Mawlid reflects the author’s deep erudition and spiritual insight, qualities that later made him one of the most celebrated scholars of North Africa and the wider ummah.
This work is not just a telling of the Prophet’s ﷺ birth, but a rich work full of praise, narrations, and reflections that weave together love, reverence, and knowledge. It opens with exalted praises of Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, affirming that through the Prophet’s coming into the world, happiness was perfected, grief lifted, and the doors of divine mercy opened. The text repeatedly emphasizes that all blessings and every form of felicity flow through him ﷺ, the Locus of Light and axis of existence.
The Mawlid also touches upon the Muḥammadan Reality, describing how the Prophet ﷺ was the primordial light created before time itself. Through poetic imagery and narrations, it details the spiritual veils, cosmic signs, and divine honors that surrounded his conception and birth. It describes how the heavens and earth rejoiced, disbelief trembled, and joy filled the hearts of the believers when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the world.
Qasa'id for Rabiʿ al-Awwal & The Ahmadan Outpouring ﷺ
This luminous collection, Qaṣāʾid wa Abyāt li-Rabīʿ al-Awwal wa al-Fayḍ al-Aḥmadī, gathers together the poems and devotional couplets of Shaykh al-Islām Ibrāhīm Niasse (1900–1975), one of the greatest Muslim scholars of the 20th century. Known to millions across West Africa and beyond as the bringer of the Fayḍah Muḥammadiyyah (the Muhammadan Outpouring), Shaykh Ibrāhīm recited these verses throughout the blessed month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal, the season of the Prophet’s ﷺ birth.
The poems themselves weave together praise, history, and awe. They describe the light of the Prophet ﷺ that existed before creation, his safe transfer through the noble lineages of prophets, and the miraculous events that marked his birth. Āminah’s vision of castles illuminated, the idols of Quraysh crumbling, fires extinguished, and seas stilled—all appear in vivid imagery that fills the heart with reverence.
The text repeatedly greets the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal with joy: “Welcome to the month of the birth, the month of exaltedness and eminence, the month of the Prophet Aḥmad, the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal." Each stanza connects the Prophet’s ﷺ birth to divine mercy and cosmic renewal, reminding the believer that his arrival was the beginning of hope, the lifting of burdens, and the illumination of the horizons.
Verses also highlight the Prophet’s exalted character and unique station: the one “who never wronged at all, from whom only goodness issued forth." His name is described as joined with Allah’s own, proclaimed five times daily in the call to prayer. His virtues are without limit, such that any honor or praise ascribed to him only falls short of his true reality.
The poems then move into collective supplication, seeking from Allah guidance, provision, protection, and a blessed end through the status of the Messenger ﷺ. These closing sections underline the purpose of the Mawlid: to remind the believer that love of the Prophet ﷺ is inseparable from seeking nearness to Allah.
Beyond the beauty of the poems themselves, the edition is enriched with Arabic text and facing English translation making it easy for both for devotional recitation and for study.
