About Imam al-Suyuti

Imam Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, also known as Ibn al-Suyuti, was a mujtahid imam and reformer of the tenth Islamic century. He was a prominent Hadith Master, jurist, Sufi, philologist, and historian, who authored works in virtually every Islamic science. A giant among contemporary scholars, he produced a sustained output of scholarly writings until his death at the age of sixty-two. He was buried in Hawsh Qawsun in Cairo.

Studying the miracles of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is a time-honored means for those who have responded to his call and believed in his Prophethood to reinforce their love for him, to renew their efforts to perform righteous actions, and to increase in faith (īmān).

Actions performed by the Prophets described as miracles are termed as such because humans are otherwise incapable of doing them. There are two types of miracles: the first type is an action that humans are theoretically able to do, but Allah has made impossible for them as a means of confirming the truthfulness of His Prophet ﷺ. The second type of miracle are those actions outside of a human’s ability. These are miracles that no-one would be able to perform except for Allah.

Out of all the Prophets, the final Messenger ﷺ was sent with the greatest number of miracles, the most magnificent signs, and the clearest proofs. The miracles of the Prophet ﷺ were innumerable. About the Author

Imam Yusuf al-Nabhani (1849-1932) was a Palestinian scholar. After his initial studies in his locality, he studied in al-Azhar, Egypt, between 1866 and 1872, where he studied the Islamic disciplines with numerous prominent scholars. He also spent a few years researching and publishing in Istanbul. He served as a chief judge in Jerusalem and then Beirut.

After living in Medina for some time, he returned to Beirut and later passed away there in the beginning of the month of Ramadan. He has left a vast collection of works, on a variety of subjects, but many are focused on the character and being of the Prophet ﷺ.

“The reader should know that we did not compile this book for the one who denies the status of the Prophet ﷺ, nor the one who wants to find doubts in the miracles he performed….Our intention in this chapter is to document the greatest miracles and signs, both of which indicate the greatness of the abilities that Allah has bestowed upon the Prophet ﷺ. We have presented those miracles that have been meticulously studied and possess the most authentic chains of transmission. And most of what has been transmitted is undisputedly authentic, or almost so, to which we have added some of the narrations found in the well-known books of reputable scholars.

Al-Shifā bi Taʿrīf Ḥuqūq al-Muṣṭafā, directly translated as, ‘The Remedy (or Cure) Through Recognizing the Rights of the Chosen One’, is one of the most celebrated works in the genre of Shamā’il. It stands uniquely amongst the works of Qāḍī ʿIyād as his most celebrated effort with many surviving manuscripts and commentaries found throughout the Islamic world. Shamā’il is a genre of works that deals with the life, characteristics, and descriptions of the Prophet ﷺ and his station.

It is exhaustive in its treatment of the subject, expounding on topics that range from Allah’s praise of the Prophet ﷺ and his status and station before Him, to the obligation of loving him and what that entails. In short, the uniqueness of this work can be attributed to its holistic coverage of the Messenger ﷺ.

One of al-Ghazali's advanced students wrote to the Imam with a question: From all the fields of knowledge, what will benefit us most in the grave? Prayers upon the Prophet ﷺ are among the most important devotions by which the devout have approached Allah. Mawlānā Shāh Muḥammad ʿAbd al-ʿAlīm al-Ṣiddīqī was an eminent Islamic scholar and missionary. Born in 1892 in Meerut, he completed Dars-e-Niẓāmī at sixteen and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1917. Continuing his religious studies in Makkah and Madinah, he traveled globally for nearly four decades, spreading Islam in Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. His sincere approach, moral conviction, and deep piety drew thousands to Islam, revitalizing dormant communities. He confronted numerous challenges, organized educational conferences, built mosques, authored over a dozen works, and engaged in interfaith dialogue. He passed away on 22 Dhū al-Ḥijjah 1372 A.H. in Madinah.

Hafiz ‘Abd al-Ghani ibn ‘Abd al-Wahid al-Maqdisi's Reports on the Dajjal (Akhbar al-Dajjal) is a collection of Prophetic narrations that mention the Dajjal, known in English as the Antichrist.

The subject of the Dajjal, the Antichrist, is one which generates much speculation, which in turn often leads to confusion. It is hoped that publication of this collection will help to clarify the most important issues related to this matter, and help us to draw lessons that are useful and applicable to our own lives. About the Author

Hafiz 'Abd al-Ghani al-Maqdisi was originally from the Jamma'il district of Nablus. His origin (al-Maqdisi) is ascribed to Jerusalem, as Nablus and all its districts are considered part of the jurisdiction of Jerusalem. He was most likely born in the month of Rabi' al-Akhir in the year 541 AH/1146 CE.

At an early age, his family moved from Jerusalem to the area of the Abū Salih Mosque just outside the eastern gate of Damascus. Then, they moved again to the foot of Mount Qasioun. There, they built an estate, calling it Dar al-Hanabilah (the Abode of the Ḥanbalis).

The Hafiz had a pious upbringing in Damascus. He began studying and traveling for knowledge, and heard hadiths as well as most of the books from the majority of scholars in Damascus, Alexandria, Jerusalem, Egypt, Baghdad, Harran, Mosul, Isfahan, and Hamadan. His inclination in scholarship was towards hadith.

The Sheikh was known for his worship and his generosity. He was also generous and kind to the students of knowledge. He was of keen intellect and insight and had a light on his face. He used all his time in beneficial matters and did not waste a moment. Some of the scholars said, “No one among Ahl al-Sunnah saw him except that he fell in love with him.”

Hafiz al-Maqdisi passed away in Cairo in the month of Rabīʿ al-Awwal in the year 600 AH. He was just under sixty years old. He was buried in the Qarafah graveyard in Egypt.

This book is an extract from one of the very greatest works in our tradition, the Shifa' of Qadi 'Iyad. The illustrious Imam and erudite scholar of al-Azhar, Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari, authored an extraordinary amount of poetry on many subjects. The Shaykh's poems comprise twelve volumes, which grouped according to their subject matter, ranging from the remembrance and glorification of Allah, advice for the one traversing the spiritual path to Allah, exalting the excellence of the Beloved ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt, and the virtues of the Path’s litanies and salawat.

This book contains selected poems from the first of those twelve volumes. These selections focus on the relationship between the shaykh and murid, as well as the virtues of the spiritual path. These poems were specifically selected by Shaykh Muhammad Salih al-Ja'fari, the grandson of Shaykh Salih al-Ja'fari. The core of these selected poems, just as in the shaykh’s poetry overall, are from the genre of what is known as madih (praise poetry), in praise of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the Ahl al-Bayt.

Regarding the methodology of his father, Shaykh 'Abd-al-Ghani al-Ja'fari said the following:

"This door of spiritual openings, which our Shaykh traveled, is a clear opening, and whoever traverses it will arrive, and whoever arrives will be connected, and whoever is connected will see and witness, and whoever has witnessed, has intimate discourse, and becomes acquainted, and whoever becomes acquainted, is guided to the Muḥammadan Reality, thus he multiplies love by love. As he ﷺ has said: 'A man is with the one he loves.'"
