Reviving Traditional Islamic Knowledge

This campaign is part of IGP's ongoing work to revive traditional Islamic knowledge across the world through the advocacy of studying the works of our tradition, with qualified teachers, in the manner these books have been transmitted for centuries.

The ask is simple. The Hadith recital is free to all. But 15 students need a copy of the Hadith work who cannot afford one. It is placed in their hands before the recital begins this Saturday with Shaykh Sjaad Hussain. Have the honor of helping a student read the hadith of the Messenger ﷺ.

This Saturday, Shaykh Sjaad Hussain begins a hadith recital in our community in Malaysia. Over 75 students of knowledge are expected to gather and recite the Mukhtasar Sahih al-Bukhari, listening to the hadith of the Prophet ﷺ directly from the text in the traditional manner this ummah has preserved for over a thousand years. Teacher and students, seated together, moving through the words of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ line by line.

Students Need Copies Before Saturday

Gift a copy for one of them. It is placed in their hands before the first hadith is read, and it remains theirs for life.

The event is completely free. The only requirement is that every student attends with their own copy of the book, to recite from, to follow along in, and to keep as a record of what they heard and studied. This is the adab of these gatherings, and it is how this knowledge has passed soundly from generation to generation.

At least 15 of the expected students are unable to afford the work. This campaign covers them. Every copy purchased here is placed directly in the hands of a student before the recital begins, in sha Allah. They sit in the gathering with the text open in front of them, and the book remains theirs for life. Every hadith they hear from it, memorize from it, act upon, and one day teach from it becomes part of your record as well.

The recital begins this Saturday. The window is short.
